De Bondt B.V. chooses Vanderlande's FASTPICK to support global growth

Tynaarlo, The Netherlands, 20 September 2022 - De Bondt B.V. has an automated FASTPICK goods-to-person (GtP) solution. The logistic process has been implemented by Vanderlande, who provide future-proof automation to wholesalers, airports and parcel services worldwide. The system uses innovative ADAPTO shuttle technology to automatically pick goods from the warehouse in Tynaarlo where it has been installed and is undergoing the optimisation phase.

To retain a competitive advantage, De Bondt B.V. needed a flexible and scalable solution to make order picking and packing more efficient and reduce the risk of error. The family-owned company, known for its yarn brand 'Scheepjes', supplies retailers and resellers in more than 70 countries worldwide and is experiencing substantial growth. A significant part of De Bondt B.V.'s warehouse is automated, thanks to ADAPTO, Vanderlande's AS/RS, Automated Storage and Retrieval Shuttle system. Multi-compartment totes carry items to the ergonomic picking stations in the appropriate order.

ADAPTO offers De Bondt B.V. an initial capacity of over 20,000 storage locations, that can be flexibly divided into compartments, storing up to 8 different products. In peak periods, up to 1,200 items can be picked per hour. Capacity will be increased during the optimisation phase and is scalable, with the potential to accommodate up to 160,000 storage locations.

Workstations are ergonomically designed and multifunctional to support performance and improve working conditions and wellbeing. Operators can pick orders directly to the box in one efficient operation. As part of the automated process, boxes are constructed, sized and sealed to reduce shipping costs and minimise the need for filler. Address labels and convenient content lists are automatically attached.
