Scheepjes Christmas Tangle MAL

The days are getting shorter, there’s a sprinkling of frost in the mornings and we’re starting to think about the festive treats of the season to come.
With Christmas just around the corner, Scheepjes invite crafters to sink into the comfort of the couch and crochet a new blanket, for themselves or to give to a lucky loved one!

About the Make-A-Long

The Christmas Tangle MAL features the clever interlocking crochet technique and is a fun festive intermediate level project created especially for this Scheepjes MAL by designer Astrid Schandy. There are two colourways to choose from using the main featured yarn, Scheepjes Catona. In the first, the background is snowy white with rainbow fairy light motifs, and in the second, the green background represents a Christmas tree with jewel-coloured lights. Astrid will also provide swatches of alternative colourways to inspire crafters preferring to choose their own palette. Made using Scheepjes’ silky smooth 100% Mercerised Cotton yarn, Catona, the natural, breathable and baby safe fibre will keep you cosy and comfortable. The huge colour range makes this an easy project to adapt to the colour palette of your interior décor.

The Christmas Tangle Blanket can be made in a range of other yarns too. Like the featured yarn Catona, Cotton 8 is fingering weight. Colour Crafter, Terrazzo and our newest yarn Scrumptious are all suitable DK weight yarns that will make a larger blanket. Made respectively from 100% Premium Acrylic, a Recycled Wool Blend and a Recycled Plastic Bottle Blend, participants have countless colour and fibre options and are sure to find a combination they adore!

 

Pattern & Support

The Christmas Tangle Blanket pattern is available in English (both UK and US terms) and Dutch via Astrid’s Ravelry page at the regular price of USD12 (subject to variation based on local currency and taxes). Entering the code ScheepesMAL will entitle participants to a 30% discount (valid 5 Oct - 1 Nov).

Crafters will have the opportunity to practice interlocking crochet before the MAL begins. To introduce the technique, Astrid has prepared a small project where participants can make a potholder. Links to the free pattern and tutorial videos will be available via scheepjes.com from 28th September. Highly skilled mods and admins, as well as the Scheepjes Community, will be on hand to offer additional support during and after the MAL.
